The meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization has come to an end in the beautiful Indian seaside city of Goa. In this meeting, the agenda of the meeting of the heads of state of the proposed organization in July was discussed. The official languages of the organization so far are Russian and Mandarin. This time there was a discussion on making English the language of the organization. There was also discussion on making Iran and Belarus regular member countries of the organization. It is expected that these proposals will be approved in the upcoming sessions and meetings.
The 21st century is called the century of Asia. Russia is one of the eight member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, whose borders are also in Europe. By the way, the 19th century strategic thinker Howard Mackinder had said that the world would belong to the one who would rule Eurasia. The way the scope of Shanghai Cooperation Organization countries, which account for 25 percent of the world’s GDP, is increasing, it should be expected that Halford’s vision will soon materialize. Provided that the countries of the organization keep moving forward on the path of mutual cooperation. Anyway, this organization represents 42 percent of the world’s population. Obviously this is a very important organization.
In this meeting, where the issue of terrorism was raised by India, the Foreign Minister of China appealed to the member countries to jointly oppose the interference of the western countries. India has already advised Russia that the world has changed, so it should find a way through talks in the Ukraine issue. Since India has the presidency of this organization these days, it is natural to see its influence in the Goa meeting. By the way, the framework given by India in the year 2018 of SECURE i.e. Secure is still effective. In this, S means security, E means economic corporation, C means connectivity, U means unity, R means respect for sovereignty and integrity. Respect for the second and E means environment protection. The organization seems to have largely agreed to work under this agenda of India. The current state of the world is dominated by the western countries led by America. Through the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, China and Russia are preparing to challenge the supremacy of Western countries in the world order.
Meanwhile, India’s Banaras, one of the oldest cities in the world, has been declared the tourism capital of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. Thati of Asia is the traditional medicine here, in which the importance of Indian Ayurveda has also been established in the Corona period. A separate group has also been formed in the organization regarding this. The Belt Road Initiative has been taken by China, that too can become a means of balancing among the member countries. India and China are working together in this direction. If the organization is successful in stopping the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, can bring both the countries to a balanced point of view, then the global importance of the organization will automatically be established. It will also be a big challenge to the American-led western countries. By the way, the importance of the organization can be gauged from the fact that the countries of Central Asia are continuously getting the benefit of its balanced activism. This is the reason why now Iran and Belarus are also eager for its membership. If many expectations of the organization from the Goa meeting are seen to be fruitful, then it will also be considered as the success of the organization.
