Since Carlson was taken off the air last week, his attorneys have been in touch with Fox to negotiate terms for his departure. The right-wing media made it clear they would hire him if they could.

But some of his allies in the conservative media have accused Fox of trying to tarnish their former host’s reputation. They said the network was looking to undermine his career prospects.
