The use of soups can cause diseases of the pancreas and gastrointestinal tract, says gastroenterologist Ekaterina Kashukh.
The nutritionist emphasized that such soups are very high in calories and fat. In addition, carbohydrates are often added to the soup, such as potatoes or noodles, she said.
The doctor warned that people with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, such as pancreatitis, gastritis and cholecystitis, should not eat borscht, kharcho or hodgepodge, as these soups are cooked in meat broth and can be too fatty.
According to the doctor, light vegetable soups are considered a dietary dish and can help replenish the supply of vital vitamins and minerals in the body.
Kashukh recommends including vegetable soups in the diet during weight loss or treatment, writes Gazeta.Ru.
