Kennedy made the high-profile assassination allegation that spawned conspiracy theories during an interview with John Katsimatidis on WABC on Sunday. “There is overwhelming evidence that the CIA was involved in his assassination. I think it’s beyond a reasonable doubt at this point,” Kennedy said of the assassination of John F. Kennedy in Dallas, in Texas. According to him, the CIA was involved not only in the murder, but also “hiding the truth about him”.
Kennedy Jr. cited James Douglas’ book John F. Kennedy and the Unspeakable as a collection of evidence on the subject and called the denial of the CIA’s role a “sixty-year cover-up”. The official US government investigation, the Warren Commission Report, concluded that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in the fatal shooting and that there was no credible evidence that he was part of a conspiracy to to assassinate the 35th president. The report was published on September 24, 1964.
The Central Intelligence Agency website has a link to an article that calls claims about the intelligence agency’s role in the assassination of John F. Kennedy “false”.
