Russia: The United States is responsible for the attack in Prilepin

Statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry

• “The responsibility for this and other terrorist acts lies not only with Ukraine, but also with its Western sponsors, led by the United States.”

• “Washington’s reluctance to condemn after a new terrorist attack speaks for itself (…) the silence of the international organizations concerned is unacceptable.”

• “The attack on Prilepin reflects Kyiv’s methodical approach to eliminating ideological opponents.”

The blast that killed the writer’s driver came at a time when Russia is experiencing an increasing number of drone strikes, sabotage and attacks, with no one knowing who is responsible.

The Kremlin accuses Ukraine of being behind the operations, which Kiev denies as its forces prepare a large-scale attack as celebrations in Russia approach the anniversary of the victory over Germany Nazi on May 9.
