The Rapid Support Forces said: “The car of the Turkish ambassador in Khartoum, Ismail Cubanoglu, (has come under fire) after prior coordination between the two sides regarding the evacuation.”
The Rapid Support Forces blamed the military for the incident, as the embassy buildings are under the control of the Sudanese army, according to the Rapid Support Forces.
The Rapid Support Forces confirmed that they had evacuated the Ambassador and his delegation to a place of safety.
On the other hand, the military denied RSF’s accusations and responded with similar accusations of support by shooting at the ambassador’s car and arresting him.
The army said in a statement: “The RSF militia shot at the car of the Turkish ambassador and detained him, and at the same time his fake media machine says that the armed forces did this, and his death is that the ambassador himself is present and can simply explain what happened.”
During 3 weeks of conflict, diplomatic headquarters and missions in Sudan have been the target of attacks and looting, condemned by the international community.
The conflict continues in Sudan between the army and the Rapid Support Forces, which has killed hundreds and caused tens of thousands to flee abroad, while representatives of the two parties meet in Jeddah on Saturday to talks.
