It was timed to coincide with the 115th birthday of famous Russian artist Svyatoslav Roerich’s wife, famous Indian actress Devika Rani Roerich.

The actress not only helped her husband to understand Indian culture, but also became his muse. Svyatoslav Roerich painted many portraits of his wife, in which he reflected his love for her. Their long and happy union is called a symbol of the community of Indian and Russian cultures.

As part of the festival, a thematic photo exhibition began its work in the exhibition hall of the International Roerich Memorial Trust. In addition, young Indians, students of the Academy of Children’s Arts named after Helena Roerich, performed in the institution.

As the Russkiy Mir website reported, the institution planned to open Russian language courses for local residents.
