This is the next confrontation between Ancelotti and Guardiola, the fifth between coaches in the Champions League.

Ancelotti v Guardiola

The last confrontation between Ancelotti and Guardiola came in the second leg of last season’s Champions League semi-finals between Real Madrid and Manchester City.

Manchester City beat Real Madrid 4-3 at the Etihad Stadium.

Prior to these games, Ancelotti and Guardiola faced each other in the Champions League when Guardiola was the coach of Bayern Munich.

Ancelotti was able to lead Real Madrid to sweep away then Guardiola-led Bayern Munich 5-0 in the two semi-finals of the 2013-14 season, as he won the first leg in Spain 1- 0 before repeating the 4-0 victory in Germany.

According to these figures, Ancelotti won 3 games against Guardiola in the Champions League, all with Real Madrid, scoring 11 goals against 5, while Guardiola won once, with Manchester City.

Premier League

In England, Guardiola won all of his matches against Ancelotti, including 3 in the English Premier League and one in the FA Cup, when the Italian coach was Everton’s technical director from 2019 to 2021.

In these four encounters, Manchester City have scored 12 goals and conceded two goals.
