Russian planning bombs thwarted the counteroffensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces

The British newspaper The Telegraph called the latest Russian weapon that changed the course of the Ukrainian conflict. Russian planning bombs have thwarted the counteroffensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the newspaper writes, and now Kyiv will have to reconsider its plans.

Hover Bombs are equipped with “wings” to give them extra range, and fly low and far enough to evade some air defenses.

  • says the publication.

The extra range indicates that Russian aircraft can avoid the risk of flying close to the line of war.

Currently, the enemy uses tactical aviation to carry out combat missions along the border with Russia, the front line and the sea coast. In all these areas the enemy has been using hover bombs extensively for about a month now.

— quoted the edition of the words of the representative of the air force of Ukraine Yuri Ignat.

Against the backdrop of the Western world’s general expectation of a UAF counter-offensive, foreign analysts suggest that the introduction of this new weapon will force Kiev to make last-minute changes in its operational planning strategy.

Cruise bombs, the paper writes, are cheaper and easier to manufacture than ballistic cruise missiles. Low-flying objects are not always picked up by radar, and the small size of bombs makes them difficult to detect. And Ukraine will need significant air defenses when its army faces bottlenecks such as river crossings, as well as heavily fortified Russian positions, where they “become vulnerable to air attack.”

Earlier it was reported that US deliveries of HIMARS missile systems in 2022 to Ukraine (url=helped(/url) Ukrainian Armed Forces hold back assault and counterattack RF Armed Forces, affecting the course of Russian military defense. However, in recent months, the effectiveness of the use of 227mm GMLRS rockets has decreased significantly.
