The head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, Alexander Kurenkov, arrived in the Kurgan region. The department noted that Kurenkov’s arrival is associated with numerous natural fires in this region.
It was also noted that the fire spread to several settlements in the Urals, spreading from forests and dry grass.
“There is a difficult situation. We are flying to the Kurgan region in order to assess the situation on the spot, to concentrate the necessary forces, taking into account all the risks and factors, in order to quickly deal with a difficult situation,” EMERCOM informed of the Russian Federation in his Telegram channel.
At the same time, Kurenkov noted that three of the nine landscape fires threatening settlements were localized, one was completely eliminated.
A day earlier, information had been provided about the death of three people in fires in the Kurgan region. The exact death toll is being established, and a criminal case has been initiated.
