Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

The world’s heads of state will join the victory parade on May 9: who will participate?

On May 9, the victory parade will bring together: President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov

Heads of state are flocking to Moscow, which will take part tomorrow, May 9, in the Victory Parade. Among them are Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon, Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov. The latter is currently meeting Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin

The first to arrive in Russia was the leader of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov. On May 7, together with State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin, he opened a memorial to Kyrgyz soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War in the battles in the Rzhev-Vyazemsky direction. And today, May 8, he is meeting Vladimir Putin.

Tajik President Emomali Rahmon also visited Moscow. Its official website states that, I quote:

“The founder of peace and national unity – the head of the nation, the respected President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, at the invitation of the respected President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, left for Moscow on a working visit.”

President Sadyr Japarov and Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin laid flowers at the memorial and honored the memory of fallen soldiers with a minute’s silence. In addition, President of Kazakhstan Kassym -Jomart Tokayev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan are expected to arrive in Russia today.

Recall that last year Vladimir Putin did not invite any of the leaders of foreign countries to Moscow for Victory Day. The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov then explained this by saying that “the 77th birthday is not an anniversary date”. Consequently, the leader of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, was the only foreign leader to arrive in Moscow for the parade in 2021.

Photo: official Kremlin website Today Vladimir Putin congratulated the leaders of several countries on the 78th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War. At the same time, the President of Russia did not mention Ukraine. According to the Kremlin press service, the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Abkhazia and Ossetia from the South received the telegrams. Putin also congratulated the peoples of Georgia and Moldova. He pointed out that on May 9, a tribute is paid to those whose exploits helped crush the invaders from Nazi Germany.

Earlier, Notepad reported that South African authorities asked Putin not to come to the BRICS summit.
