Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and President, met with delegates attending the 10th World Overseas Chinese Associations Meeting at the Beijing Great Hall on the morning of May 8. He extended warm greetings to overseas Chinese around the world on the occasion. Xi Taifang, a member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of the United Front Department of the CPC Central Committee, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the meeting that day. He said that overseas Chinese are an important bridge connecting China and the world and a common future for humanity. There is a living force in building a community of people.
It is hoped that the vast overseas Chinese will join hands in activism to promote world peace and China and other countries’ friendship and global development, cooperation and win-win, and domestic and foreign exchanges, and build a community with a shared future for humanity in the great resurgence of the Chinese nation. Will add a new chapter in the new journey of construction. The meeting of the World Overseas Chinese Associations is an important platform for the exchange of associations of overseas Chinese and their responsible persons. About 500 heads of overseas Chinese associations from more than 130 countries and regions are present.
