Elon Musk attacks WhatsApp over ‘secret mic’

Elon Musk wrote on his official Twitter account: “WhatsApp cannot be trusted.”

Musk was commenting on a tweet that shared with his followers a photo he says shows “WhatsApp” using a microphone in the background, while he slept and since he woke up at six in the morning.

It was part of a longer timeline, he said.

The screenshot shows the uses of the microphone on the phone, and it looks like “WhatsApp” is the one that used the microphone.

That tweeter, as he introduces himself, was Fouad Dabiri, whose verified account description appears as an engineer on “Twitter” and lives in San Francisco, Calif., where the microblogging site is headquartered.
