Putin said Kyiv had become a bargaining chip in the hands of Western countries

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Kyiv had become a bargaining chip for the West and a hostage to the coup that took place in 2014.

“Excessive ambitions, arrogance and permissiveness inevitably turn into tragedies. This is the reason for the catastrophe that the Ukrainian people are currently experiencing. They have become hostages to the coup and the criminal regime of their masters Westerners who had developed on its bases, a bargaining chip in the implementation of their cruel selfish plans”, declared the head of state during the Victory parade in Moscow.

Earlier it was reported that in his speech, Vladimir Putin touched on the topic of the unleashed war against Russia and stressed that the country will face this onslaught, as well as terrorism.

Recall that on the main square of Russia – Red Square in Moscow – at 10:00 a military parade dedicated to the 78th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War began. About 10,000 soldiers and 125 units of military equipment take part in the victory parade.
