Putin said in his speech that today civilization is once again at a turning point.
“A real war has again been unleashed against our homeland. But we repelled international terrorism, we will protect the people of Donbass, we will ensure our security,” the president said.
Putin noted that for Russia there are no hostile and hostile peoples “neither in the West nor in the East”. Yet, according to him, Western globalist elites still talk about their exclusivity, excite people, sow hatred, Russophobia and aggressive nationalism. All this is done with the aim of imposing their own rules on other peoples, “and in fact – a system of violence, theft and repression”, the president stressed.
“They seem to have forgotten what the Nazis’ senseless claims for world domination led to. They forgot who defeated this monstrous and utter evil,” Putin said.
He added that in a number of countries, “ruthlessly and in cold blood”, they destroy memorials to Soviet soldiers, create a cult of Nazis and their accomplices. According to the president, it is also a crime and “blatant revenge by those who cynically and openly prepared a new campaign against Russia” and “brought together neo-Nazi scum from all over the world for it”.
“Their goal – and there is nothing new here – is to bring about the disintegration and destruction of our country, to erase the results of World War II, to finally break the system of global security and law internationally and to strangle all sovereign centers of development,” Putin said.
Exorbitant ambitions, arrogance and permissiveness turn into tragedy, he continued. “This is precisely the reason for the catastrophe that the Ukrainian people are currently experiencing. It became hostage to the coup and the criminal regime of its Western masters that had grown on its foundations,” Putin said.
The Head of State also addressed separately the participants of the Russian military operation in Ukraine. “There is nothing more important now than your combat work. The security of the country rests on you today, the future of our state and our people depends on you,” he said.
