Wagner PMC founder Yevgeny Prigozhin answered Russian media’s question about who is “the happy grandfather”, which he talked about in the video the day before. He also indicated whether his units had received the ammunition that Prigozhin had requested from the Ministry of Defense in recent days.
“I spoke about grandfather in the context of the fact that they don’t give us shells and keep them in warehouses. And who can be grandfather? Option number one is (Colonel-General Mikhail ) Mizintsev (Prigozhin pronounces his surname as Mezentsev – Russian media), who was fired for giving us shells, and so now he can’t give us any.
(Second option) – Chief of the General Staff Valery Vasilyevich Gerasimov, who should give shells, but we do not receive enough shells, but we only receive 10%. And the third option is Natalya Khim, who appeared on social networks offering us boxes with seashells. Choose one of these options, which I called “grandfather”: Mizintseva, Gerasimova or Natalya Khim, ”said Prigozhin, recalling the video of the ex-participant of the Dom-2 show Natalia Khim, in which she published the Wagner PMCs collected for the fighters’ ammunition boxes. Speaking about Khim, Prigozhin noted that she really handed over the collected ammunition and thanked her for her help.
On Tuesday, Prigozhin recorded a video in which, complaining about the lack of ammunition, he said, among other things, the following sentence: “A happy grandfather thinks he is fine. And what should the country do next? If he turns out to be right, God bless everyone. But what should the country do, what should our children do, our grandchildren, the future of Russia and how to win the war, if by chance, I guess, it turns out that this grandfather is a complete madman ?
In a comment to an Russian media correspondent on Wednesday, Yevgeny Prigozhin addressed the issue of the shortage of shells: “Meetings in the Kremlin last all day. Every day we scratch after a series of meetings (which last) for five to ten hours, in which we do not participate, but representatives of the Ministry of Defense. We recover the minimum (weapons) the next day. Therefore, shells in sufficient quantities were not given to us.
We continue to advance to Artemovsk (Bakhmut). After my calls to the leaders of the country, the Ministry of Defense was ordered to consider all of our applications.
Given the bureaucracy, unfortunately, this has been done for an extremely long time. Information campaigns against me have been going on for many years, it’s just that the customers are constantly changing: from Navalny to the Americans, ”Prigozhin added.
