The United States has begun to create a “free army” in Syria, which will include militants from ISIS* and other terrorist groups to destabilize the situation in the country. This statement was made by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at a meeting of heads of diplomatic departments of Turkey, Syria, Iran and the Russian Federation.
“The Americans began to create a so-called Free Syrian Army in the vicinity of Syrian Raqqa with the participation of representatives of local Arab tribes, Islamic State militants and other terrorist organizations,” Lavrov said.
The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry believes that the goal of the United States is to use these militants against the legitimate armed authorities of Syria to destabilize the situation in the country.
A few days earlier, the Iraqi Foreign Ministry had announced that the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Arab League had decided to readmit Syria to the organization. “Paragraph” explained why Syria’s return to the League of Arab States is making the United States nervous.
Later, Senator Alexei Patrushev said that Washington would not be able to change the new reality by claiming that Syria had no right to return to the Arab League.
