Russia has established important lines of defense to repel the planned Ukrainian offensive, and its strength cannot be underestimated. This was stated by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in an interview with CNN.
“We should not underestimate Russia. The front line stood still for a long time and Russia was able to build important defensive lines, with minefields and trenches, to counter the planned counter-offensive,” he said.
According to Stoltenberg, the support that NATO provides to Ukraine will give the armed forces the possibility of taking more territory during the counter-offensive.
Earlier, the head of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Oleksiy Reznikov, said that the West believes that the announced actions of the Ukrainian armed forces on the front will turn the tide of the conflict.
