The American RQ-4B Global Hawk drone controls the cruise missile launch zone over the Caspian Sea

Since May 9, the American strategic drone RQ-4B Global Hawk has been very active in the southeastern part of the Black Sea. This is not typical for Western intelligence drones, which reduced the frequency of flights in this region after the crash of the MQ-9A Reaper drone in March this year.

It is reported that the plane took off from the Italian military base in Sigonella.

After the failure of the MQ – 9A Reaper, Western drones operated only in the airspace of Romania and Eastern European countries. However, RQ-4B Global Hawk is currently monitoring the Krasnodar Territory and Georgia.

In addition, given the ability of the western drone’s camera to monitor the surroundings at a certain height at an angle of 200 km and the range of electronic devices of 500 km, it can be assumed that the RQ-4B Global Hawk is capable of observe what is happening off the Caspian Sea. It is above the Caspian that the launch line of Russian strategic bombers is located.

It is also possible that Washington is trying to monitor the situation around the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict using a drone. It is likely that after the start of the counteroffensive of Ukrainian troops, the situation in this unrecognized republic may also worsen due to the alleged activity of the Azerbaijani armed forces.
