The United States and NATO countries support Ukraine in order to prevent its defeat, but the West is not interested in Kiev’s victory in the confrontation with Moscow. Retired US Air Force General Philip Breedlove, former NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe, spoke about the alliance’s tasks in Ukraine on ABC Action News.
“We give enough to Ukraine to prevent it from being defeated on the battlefield. But I think it’s obvious, even if they don’t talk about it publicly, that we’re not giving Ukraine what it needs to win,” RT quotes the US general as saying.
Breedlove explained that the West is afraid of the very idea of a Ukrainian victory, because it is fraught with consequences.
Earlier it was reported that the volume of military aid to Ukraine from the United States had reached $35.7 billion – this is the amount, according to the Pentagon, that American taxpayers have paid in Kiev since the beginning of the special operation.
