And authorities have announced the death of Filipino boxer Kenneth Igano, who is just 22, after falling into a coma just after finishing his fight last week.
Footage of Igano’s ‘collapse’ has been shared on social media showing the moment he lost his balance as he stood with his trainer, after a fierce fight ended that lasted 8 rounds last Saturday.
Footage from the event showed painful scenes, in which Igano staggered and moaned as he waited for the results, before losing consciousness and being carried out of the ring.
On Thursday his death was announced, after it was discovered he had suffered a brain haemorrhage.
His last fight was on the Blow by Blow series funded by legendary Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao, which is part of a weekly boxing TV show in the Philippines.
Pacquiao covered all of the boxer’s medical expenses, before announcing his death.
