How to apply for Germany visa

A national visa for Germany (category D) is issued for studies, work, internship, regrouping with relatives. This visa is valid for 3 to 6 months. As part of the change in the working procedure of consulates general in St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk, the application will now have to be submitted on the website of the German Embassy in Moscow. The questionnaires are filled out online, the recipient stands in line and on the appointed date arrives at the German Embassy in Moscow for a face-to-face visit.

Schengen tourist visas with a stay of up to 90 days will continue to be issued by consulates without change. The German diplomatic mission recommends contacting the official service partner VisaMetric. The site contains a complete list of required documents. After collecting them, you must personally go to the visa center closest to the place of registration.

One of the branches of VisaMetric explained that the Schengen visa processing time will be increased due to postage of documents. From now on, all applications from the centers in St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk will be sent to the German Embassy in Moscow. Due to increased demand, waiting for a visa can take up to 45 days on average. More accurate forecasts were not reported to the visa center.
