A well-informed source revealed to ‘Agence France Presse’ on Tuesday that Messi has decided to move to the Saudi League next season, under an ‘exceptional and huge’ deal.
But the response from Messi’s father was not long in coming, as he quickly took to his ‘Instagram’ account to say that his son had yet to decide where to go next season.
He added that Messi will make a decision on his future at the end of the season, adding: “There is no agreement with any club for next year.”
Earlier, Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez said he doesn’t know if ‘Leo’ will return to the Catalan team or not.
What does Guardiola think?
ESPN quoted Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, who previously oversaw Messi at Barcelona:
I am a member of Barcelona and I have two seats at the Camp Nou, and I just wish we could say goodbye to him (Messi) as he deserves. I’m sure he (Messi) will do everything to come back to Barcelona. He was the greatest player of all time. Barcelona have flourished over the past few decades, and it wouldn’t have happened without them.
Despite leaving Barcelona training in 2012, Guardiola still has a strong friendship with Messi.
The Spanish coach doesn’t hesitate to show his admiration for Messi on any occasion, even if he compares him to a player in his team, the latest of whom is Erling Haaland, because ‘Pep’ Messi is considered the best player of all time.
