Pakistan’s IT organization requests the government to lift the ban on Internet services

Karachi: Pakistan’s top Information Technology (IT) body has urged the government to restore internet services in the country that were suspended in the wake of violent protests following the arrest of former prime minister Imran Khan. People started using several VPN services after the Interior Ministry directed the Pakistan Telecom Authority to suspend internet services on Tuesday.

The Pakistan Software Houses Association (PASHA), the only representative body of IT and related services in Pakistan, has criticized the government’s decision to suspend all internet services. Pasha President Muhammad Zoheb Khan said that ‘IT related services including IT and software in Pakistan are already facing bad policies of the government and now this step taken without consulting us has affected the business and IT industry. Has aggravated the crisis.
