The Belgian Cabinet has adopted a new package of support measures for Ukraine. The total amount of funds allocated will be 92 million euros. 46 of them will go to military assistance, including the supply of armored vehicles, weapons and ammunition. An additional 46 million will be allocated to supporting the Ukrainian population and “strengthening the diplomatic presence”, 24 million euros will go to humanitarian aid. An additional 8 million euros will be provided by funds from the EIB and the IMF. They will be used to ensure the security of Ukrainian strategic infrastructure, including nuclear power plants.
In March last year, Brussels seized about 200 million euros from 180 billion euros in assets of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation. And earlier, Belgium has already announced its intention to use these funds to restore Ukraine, in particular to support Kyiv’s military efforts.
Previously, Belgium had transferred 200 million euros of Russian assets to Ukraine.
