Turkish Defense Ministry chief Hulusi Akar said Russia, Ukraine and Turkey have made progress on the issue of a grain deal, TGRT Haber TV channel reports.
“We are moving towards an agreement to extend the grain agreement,” he said.
According to the Minister of Defense, the meeting was positive.
It should also be noted that the timing of the extension of the agreements is currently unknown.
Earlier, Turkish Foreign Ministry chief Mevlut Cavusoglu said that Ankara hopes for a positive outcome of the grain deal negotiations in Istanbul.
The Russian Foreign Ministry, in turn, has indicated that the grain agreement will cease to exist if, by May 18, it is not possible to reach a consensus on it, taking into account account of Russian requirements.
