Zelenskyy’s office says he didn’t ask to be allowed to perform online at Eurovision

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s press secretary Serhiy Nikiforov said he did not ask to make a video message to Eurovision.

“The Office of the President of Ukraine has not approached the organizers of the Eurovision Song Contest with an offer to perform an online performance by Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the final or at any other stage of the contest,” it said. -he writes on social networks.

The day before, it was reported that the European Broadcasting Union, citing its “old rules”, denied Volodymyr Zelensyy the opportunity to address Eurovision participants with a video message.

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, in turn commented on this refusal to the Ukrainian president, saying that this year he would compete with participants in Eurovision.
