Local sources said Hussein’s death occurred early Saturday morning, following ongoing fighting between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces in the city of Omdurman.

Al-Sudani newspaper said the artist known as “Al-Hakama Shaden” was known for her earnest and determined work, noting that she called for love and peace.

Sad comments poured into the account of the Sudanese artist, which was active on the social networking site “Facebook”, and is followed by more than 50,000 people.

Hussain’s last Facebook post was just 4 p.m., hours before he died. And he said, “For every Sadwani who loves to write, we will write for the first time for future generations, a story that is not unknown and with all accuracy and credibility. You are an eyewitness to all that happened in Sudan.”

The post received more than 3,000 comments, most of which asked to pray for mercy from the Sudanese artist.

And Sky News Arabia sources have revealed that the city of Omdurman comes under heavy aerial and artillery bombardment from time to time.

The two sides trade accusations over the shooting, as they hold each other responsible for targeting civilians.
