The head of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, said that companies, fulfilling the defense order, allow the facts of bribery and theft. He made this statement at the XI International Legal Forum in St. Petersburg

“Many fraudulent schemes are implemented even in the defense industry. In this difficult time for the country, in accordance with the defense order, our companies allow acts of corruption and theft,” said the head of the RF investigation committee.

According to him, given such situations in the defense industry, “there is simply nowhere to go”.

Bastrykin did not specify which particular companies were found guilty of acts of corruption.

Bastrykin said last December that around 72,000 Russian officials had been tried for corruption since 2011.
