Esperance’s Tunisian coach resigns after the night of the defeat against Al-Ahly

Maaloul said in his message: “I understand Esperance’s sadness and disappointment after this difficult defeat, and I apologize to all the fans for not being able to bring joy last night to the hearts of our former fans.”

He added: “In the recent period, it has not been easy for me and the rest of the technical staff and the players for several reasons that are too long to explain in the current circumstances, but I have tried all my strengths to find appropriate solutions. , overcoming difficulties and achieving the best possible results.”

And he continued: “I fulfilled the call of duty when my team needed me in a difficult time. Thank goodness we succeeded in some things and failed in others, and people make mistakes. and get injured, and in favor of the interest of my Tunisian sports team, Espérance, I have decided to step down and tender my resignation to the president of the club.

He concluded his message: “I call on all Esperance supporters to continue to stand behind the players and support them in the rest of the course in the league, in the cup and in the African Champions League.”

And press reports indicated that the Tunisian Nabil Maaloul was about to leave the team in view of the team’s poor results, the last of which was the defeat of Al-Ahly with the score of (3-0). .

Al-Ahly is due to face his counterpart Espérance on Friday, May 19, in the second leg of the semi-final of the African Championship, at the Cairo International Stadium.
