The Wall Street Journal reported that Linda Iaccarino, an executive at NBC Universal, is the top contender for Twitter’s CEO position.
Reuters reported after Musk’s tweet that Iaccarino could be his “choice” to run Twitter, according to a Silicon Valley executive and former Hollywood executive who spoke on condition of anonymity.
Iaccarino, director of advertising sales for NBC, interviewed Musk at a public talk in Miami last month.
During the conference, Iaccarino encouraged the audience to greet Musk with applause and praised the billionaire’s work ethic.
Iaccarino joined NBC in 2011 and has been credited with bringing network advertising sales into the digital future.
Elon Musk, the current CEO of Twitter, said on Thursday he had found a new CEO for the social networking platform and would begin work in about six weeks.
