Imran Khan reached Lahore residence after getting bail in many cases

Lahore: Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan reached his residence here in the early hours of Saturday after a prolonged standoff with authorities in Islamabad. Despite getting bail in many cases, he had to stay in the court premises due to security arrangements. The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday granted protective bail to Khan for two weeks in a corruption case and restrained him from arrest in any case registered anywhere in the country till Monday. Three different benches of the IHC granted relief to the 70-year-old chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), who was taken to the court amid tight security.

Islamabad police reportedly detained Khan in court on security grounds for over three hours before leaving for Lahore after being granted bail by the IHC in several cases related to sedition and violence and in the Al-Qadir Trust corruption case kept. He came out of the court premises after a long standoff with the officials. A large number of PTI workers welcomed Khan when he reached his residence at Zaman Park here.

They also raised slogans in favor of Khan and against the ruling PML-N-led coalition. PTI released a video of Khan entering the house where his sisters and other family members are seen welcoming him and asking about his well-being. Adamant on demanding general elections, Khan is facing over 120 cases across the country.
