Jammu-Kashmir: Infiltration of terrorists failed in Baramulla

Srinagar. The Army on Saturday foiled an infiltration bid by terrorists along the Line of Control in Uri sector of Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir.

Defense officials said the attempt was foiled by alert troops in Uri sector in the early hours. There was exchange of fire between soldiers and terrorists along the Line of Control. Meanwhile, an attempt was made to fly a quadcopter from the border, but it quickly retreated amidst the firing.

No casualties have been reported so far. The infiltration bid was foiled by the Army at a time when the security apparatus is on high alert ahead of the G-20 meeting in Jammu and Kashmir’s capital Srinagar later this month.
