Russia’s Economic Development Ministry said the Cabinet of Ministers had lifted export restrictions on around 200 types of foreign-made products from the country. This was reported by the press service of the department.
“More than 200 items are excluded from export restrictions: household goods, certain types of medical products, telecommunications equipment, electrical machinery and mechanical appliances,” the report said.
The restrictions were introduced in March 2022 to prevent the export of foreign products from the Russian Federation, which are of great importance for the “uninterrupted functioning of key sectors of the economy”.
The removal of these restrictions will also affect the procedure for exporting Russian products. From now on, exporters will no longer need to obtain certificates confirming that the goods were produced in Russia.
Earlier, CNN reported that the US may partially lift sanctions on Moscow in order to send prisoners Evan Gershkovich and Paul Whelan home.
