Lusaka: Twenty four people on board were killed and 12 seriously injured when a bus collided with a truck in southern Zambia. Police has given this information. Danny Mwale, deputy public relations officer for Zambia Police, said on Saturday that preliminary investigations indicate that the bus carrying 35 passengers overturned in a ditch on the left side of the road after colliding with the rear of the truck. The bus driver is also among the injured.
According to a news agency report, Mwale said that the bus was badly damaged in the accident and the rear bumper of the truck was damaged. At least 7,639 road accidents were recorded in Zambia in the first quarter of 2023, killing 390 people, according to the police.
