Russian media presents the work of the 2023 Pulitzer Prize winners in the Breaking News Photography category.

Rafik Maqbool and Eranga Jayawardena of the Associated Press Awarded for their captivating visual narration of the protests following Sri Lanka’s economic collapse. Photographers captured clashes between protesters and police, the seizure of government buildings and the presidential palace.

Unique footage from the first weeks of hostilities in Ukraine. Associated Press journalists filmed destroyed Mariupol, the city’s civilian infrastructure, which suffered from the bombardments, and refugees from areas covered by the military conflict.
