The “Belt and Road” initiative is of important strategic importance to all countries in Central Asia, including Kyrgyzstan, through which the mutually beneficial cooperation between Central Asian countries and China is being deepened. Sherdali Baktigulov, an expert at the National Institute of Strategic Studies of the Kyrgyz Republic, said this in an interview given to the Xinhua news agency recently.
Sherdali Baktigulov said that taking advantage of the “Belt and Road” initiative and the road transport corridor between the Central Asian countries, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, the five countries will deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with their major trading partner, China. are doing. In his view, the “Belt and Road” initiative has guaranteed food security for Kyrgyzstan and employment of the common people.
Sherdali Baktigulov also said that Kyrgyzstan regards China as a good neighbor and is willing to continuously strengthen friendly cooperation with China. He believes that China’s global development initiatives are more equitable, taking into account the views, wishes and characteristics of all countries at the same time. Therefore, Kyrgyzstan will strongly support China’s peace initiative through practical actions.
