Prince William and Kate Middleton: £20m ($35m)

The wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton was the highlight of 2011. The ceremony was held at Westminster Abbey, and a private celebration for loved ones on the grounds of Buckingham Palace. In total, about two thousand guests attended the celebration, not counting the royal family.

Prince Charles and Lady Diana: £30m

Widespread security measures were planned for the wedding in 1981, which became one of the most expensive weddings ever. More than 3,000 guests were invited to the celebration.

Lady Diana’s dress was exquisitely embroidered with 10,000 pearls and had a 27-foot train, which was one of the important aspects of this spectacular bride.

Andrey Melnichenko and Alexandra Nikolic: $30 million

This wedding took place in a small chapel and was transported from the Moscow region to the coast of France by special arrangement.

There were 250 guests, there were many presentations. An impressive banquet was provided: fine wines, seafood and pasta dishes prepared by world-famous chefs.

Princess Salama and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Naryan $44.5 million

Mukesh Ambani and Ajay Piramal: $100 million

This Indian wedding lasted five days, but for the guests, among whom were many famous Hollywood and Bollywood actors such as Beyoncé, the singer sang. She was rumored to have been paid $6 million for her performance.

The 2,000 guests were flown in 100 private jets, staying at five of the world’s most luxurious 5-star hotels, receiving a gift and a Dolce & Gabbana diamond bracelet upon arrival.

Khadija Uzhakhova and Said Gutseriev: one billion euros

The groom’s father, Mikhail Gutseriev, spent a lot of money on the wedding. The celebration, which was attended by more than 600 guests, took place in one of the most famous restaurants in Moscow. The guests received a chest of pure gold and Swarovski crystals. The date of the wedding of the newlyweds was engraved on the chests.
