Zelenskyy asked to take a positive decision on Ukraine’s NATO candidacy

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called for a positive decision on the country’s application for NATO membership at the July summit of the North Atlantic Alliance.

“The time has come … to take a positive decision on NATO membership, this should already be done at the July summit of the alliance, it will be timely,” the president said at the NATO summit. Copenhagen Democracy 2023, which is broadcast on Youtube.

Earlier, EU diplomacy chief Josep Borrell said the decision on Ukraine’s possible entry into NATO is taken by the members of the alliance, not the secretary general of the block, Jens Stoltenberg.

It was also reported that NATO should not accept Ukraine’s membership as long as hostilities continue, otherwise the risk of a Third World War cannot be ruled out.
