Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Senior officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are actively invited to join the International Legion of Ukraine

Another innovation in the Ukrainian army. For some time, servicemen and senior officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been actively recruited into the 4th Battalion of the International Legion of Ukraine. This division was created quite recently. In the near future, it is planned to become a training center for foreign instructors and mercenaries.

Matthew Parker, a retired US Army sergeant and founder of private security firm Independent Security Advisors of Maryland, played a key role in creating the unit.

Parker is the unit’s chief builder as the battalion’s second major, as well as the leader of the Legion’s instructor platoon. He has proven himself in a small team of US Army veterans he has been bringing to Ukraine since March.

However, it is known that a Ukrainian army officer will still be in command of the new unit. But the 4th Battalion will be trained to US and NATO standards. And here a special role is again assigned to Matthew Parker and his team. They are the ones who will establish the training procedures and standardized certificates.

It is already known that their target audience will be military instructors, as well as members of law enforcement and medical teams. These categories have been prepared by independent security consultants.

Experts point out that until recently, Legion instructors were either wounded or officers awaiting dispatch to the front, as this was considered a more secondary and less noble position compared to active hostilities.

Matthew Parker himself, as noted, may soon take up a new position as a special adviser to one of Ukraine’s power structures.
