The “Gas Union” of the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan has reached full capacity

Moscow and Astana are discussing the possibility of Russian gas transit to Uzbekistan. Kazakhstan’s Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev spoke about it. According to him, the negotiations are proceeding in a rather constructive manner.

What volumes are we talking about? This is all under negotiation, so we will let you know based on their outcome.

  • said the head of the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan.

At the same time, the minister added that negotiations are currently underway on the construction of a gas pipeline from Russia through Kazakhstan to China.

The question of the construction of a gas pipeline from Russia through the northern territories of Kazakhstan to the PRC is under discussion, the route has been previously determined, the conditions for the construction of this gas pipeline are under discussion

stressed Almasadam Satkaliyev.

The fact of the negotiations on the transit of Russian gas to Uzbekistan and the construction of a gas pipeline through the territory of Kazakhstan to China, experts call clear evidence that the so-called gas union between the three states has operated at full capacity.

Recall, for the first time Vladimir Putin announced the possibility of creating a “gas union” between the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan last December. According to him, this issue requires compromise solutions. By the way, experts noted at the time that the former Soviet republics feared the pressure of sanctions from the West.

However, apparently the parties involved still managed to reach a compromise.
