39 missing after Chinese fishing boat sinks in Indian Ocean

After Chinese fishing boat crashes in central Indian Ocean, 39 people are missing, reports RIA Novosti citing China Central Television.

According to reports, 17 Chinese citizens, 17 Indian citizens and five Filipino citizens are among the missing. Rescue and search operations continue, so far none of these people have been found.

The vessel capsized at 3 a.m. Tuesday (10 p.m. Monday Moscow time). It belongs to the Chinese company Penglai Jinglu Fishery Co., Ltd.

Chinese President Xi Jinping has ordered to send additional search and rescue forces and coordinate international search and rescue efforts.

Earlier, four Russian sailors died on a ship that caught fire off the coast of South Korea. The mate, the ship’s cook and two sailors were victims of the fire.
