Islamabad: A Pakistani court on Wednesday extended till May 31 its order barring former Prime Minister Imran Khan from arrest in any case registered after May 9. The Islamabad High Court (IHC) gave the order after the government’s counsel sought more time to furnish information regarding the cases registered against Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan (70). Khan was present in the court. The court was hearing PTI’s plea seeking details of all cases registered against Khan. Khan’s party claims that more than 100 cases have been registered against the PTI chief across the country.

According to reports, the court accepted the request of the public prosecutor and adjourned the hearing till May 31. In a major relief to Khan, the Islamabad High Court on Friday granted him protective bail for two weeks in the Al-Qadir Trust corruption case and ordered a stay on the former prime minister from arrest in any case registered anywhere in the country till May 15. . The Supreme Court of Pakistan termed Khan’s dramatic arrest from the court premises on May 9 as “illegal and illegal”.
