Unusual activity by NATO reconnaissance aircraft has been noticed in the skies of the Baltic States. The Boeing RC-135W electronic reconnaissance aircraft flies over the Kaliningrad region for several hours.
As seen in the Flightradar24 map, a US Air Force strategic reconnaissance aircraft took off from Mildenhall Air Base in the UK and surveyed the remote Russian region from the airspace of Poland and the Latvia.
It is possible that the maneuvers of the reconnaissance aircraft are related to the exercises conducted by the North Atlantic Alliance, but such close attention to the Kaliningrad region isolated from the main territory of the Russian Federation raises questions. Previously, the same council monitored Crimea from neutral airspace over the Black Sea.
Note that in Europe there is unprecedented NATO military activity under the direction of the United States. Currently, at least 10 exercises are taking place on the territory of the countries participating in the alliance – from the large Defender Europe to the local Iron Wolf in Lithuania. In addition, the Air Defender 2023 large-scale aerial maneuvers will begin on June 12, for which the skies over Germany will be closed to civilian flights.
Western experts suggest that under the guise of exercises, the United States could transfer additional weapons to Ukraine. It is not excluded that the main counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be synchronized with Air Defender 2023.
