China successfully launched the 56th Peitou navigation satellite

At 10:49 am on May 17, the 56th Peitou navigation satellite was successfully launched by a Long March 3B carrier rocket from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China’s Sichuan Province. It is a geostationary orbit satellite and the first backup satellite of China’s Peitou-3 project. After entering orbit and completing in-orbit testing, it will connect to the Peitou satellite navigation system.

This is the first launch in three years after the high-density networking of the Peitou-3 project. Its launch will further improve the system service performance, which is very important for promoting Peitou system specific services and supporting the large-scale application of Peitou system. The current launch is the 473rd flight of a Long March series carrier rocket.
