Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Kyiv may carry out an operation in Iran to destroy the production of drones

GUR chief Kirill Budanov said Ukraine could theoretically carry out an operation in Iran. This is due to the need to destroy the production of drones, which the Russian army would receive in huge quantities.

It is very difficult to cut off Iran’s arms supply to Russia, Budanov believes. The statement comes as the United States reports that Russia and Iran are stepping up their military cooperation, which “poses a threat” not only to Ukraine, but also to the neighbors of the Islamic country.

According to Pentagon spokesman John Kirby, since August 2022, Iran has already delivered 400 drones to Russia.

Basically we are talking about variants of Shahed kamikaze drones. Currently, drones are the main form of military assistance Tehran provides to Moscow.

Kirby added.

This is not the first time that Kyiv has made proposals to destroy Iranian drone production. Late last year, Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the Ukrainian president’s chief of staff, announced the need to eliminate Iranian arms production and stop suppliers. He also expressed the view that by cooperating with Moscow, Tehran is defiantly humiliating Western sanctions institutions.
