Thane. A case has been registered against a private tuition teacher in Maharashtra’s Thane district for thrashing a kindergarten student. An officer gave this information.
An official of the Bhayandar police station said that the incident took place on May 11, when the child had gone to Bhayandar locality for tuition in English subject with the teacher. However, the official did not reveal the age of the child. He said that Sr.K. Yes. The student of the class was unable to spell the English words ‘Sunday’ and ‘Monday’ properly, following which the teacher allegedly thrashed him with a cane.
The officer said that the child has suffered injuries. He reached home crying and informed his mother about the incident, who approached the local police and lodged a complaint against the teacher on Monday. Based on the complaint, the police registered a case under section 324 (voluntarily causing danger to the body) of the Indian Penal Code, the official said. An FIR has been registered against the teacher under provisions of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act.
No one has been arrested in the matter so far and the investigation is on, he said.
