Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

NATO urgently seeks ways to strengthen air defense in Eastern Europe after ‘dagger’ strike

The successful Russian missile strike on the US Patriot air defense system made NATO leaders nervous. While the official Ukrainian propaganda continues to refute the fact of the destruction of the publicized air defense system, the leadership of the alliance organizes an emergency meeting.

Turkish sources report that an emergency NATO meeting was held yesterday, where the work of air defense systems in Eastern Europe was discussed. It is specified that the main emphasis was placed on increasing the level of protection of the airspace around the centers of distribution of military assistance to Ukraine.

To date, the largest arms transfer centers to Ukraine are located in Poland and Slovakia and are covered by American Patriot systems. However, on May 13, Russian missiles challenged the effectiveness of these anti-aircraft missile systems. Therefore, the NATO leadership became concerned about adopting emergency measures to strengthen air defense in these areas.

Recall that on the night of May 16, the Patriot air defense system, which covered the sky over Kiev, unsuccessfully fired the entire ammunition load of 32 missiles in an attempt to repel the attack of weapons Russian high precision, after which it was hit by the Dagger hypersonic missile.
