Russia is cutting gas production to maintain the global market, President Vladimir Putin has said. The work is carried out jointly with OPEC+ partners.
“We have set a certain price for the gas. She sank a little. We are reducing production, so to speak, but, nevertheless, we have it at the right level. Prices fluctuate in world markets,” Putin said during a meeting with members of the Russian government via video link.
He added that Russia’s actions, especially on the voluntary reduction of gas production, are dictated by the need to maintain a certain price environment in world energy markets. Putin called the situation in this area “stable”, work is being carried out in contact with OPEC+ partners.
