Visitors leave the “Dialogue with Space” vernissage under the impression: when else would you have the chance to see live the rarities of the beginning of the era of space conquest, which are today at Gagarin Russian! Rare photos, graphics and tapestries, a time display, an adding machine, shipboard equipment Vostok and many other artifacts… In parallel, on May 11 and 12, meetings took place took place at two other sites – in the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War and the National Historical Museum of Belarus – , discussions, worked sections, where the theme of cooperation between the main institutions of Russia and Belarus in their field and the development of a museum dialogue was discussed.
The Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, with the support of the Belarusian side, made professional communication and the exchange of experiences the main objective of the forum. The initiative was fully justified. It’s decided: from now on the event will become permanent in the cultural dialogue between the two countries.
The director of the National Historical Museum of Belarus, Alexander Khramoy, is satisfied with the results:
– Heads and specialists of the main museums of Russia came to us: colleagues from the State Historical Museum, the museum-reserve “Tsarskoye Selo”, representatives of Tula museums. And Tula today is the third capital of museums in Russia. Almost all federal museums participated in the forum. On the first day, 42 cooperation agreements were signed. All of them are already filled with details.
Alexander Khramoy recalled that the idea of organizing a museum forum was expressed during the Days of Russian Spiritual Culture in Belarus, which took place last fall. And already today it is decided to organize museum nights together: in Russia – with the participation of Belarusian specialists, and in Belarus – with the participation of Russian colleagues. In addition, there is an agreement that Belarusian museums are included in Russian associations based on their profiles. For example, in the literary, military-patriotic or historical directions, all museum reserves will be included in a separate association. For the Eastern neighbours, it is an opportunity to share good practices, their methodological and material and technical basis. For Belarusians, this is a good opportunity to demonstrate their achievements, to learn something useful from colleagues. The Historical Museum should become in the coming years the flagship of Belarus in the digitization of antiquities and in the study of photographic collections (here is the largest collection of rare photos in the country – 50,000 images). Therefore, a similar successful experience of colleagues will be useful.
